Umbagog 2020 (Part 1)
Its been a few years since we were up at lake Umbagog, (location, website)… here are a few pics. The typical excuse for not paddling ourselves out to one of the sites (this year site R14 - lake map), is that we have to haul in firewood for a week - so I’m going to go with that. Also this year, transport from the ‘base camp’ was unavailable, so we found a rent-a-guy with a pontoon boat to haul us out.
We lucked out and had 7 days of perfect weather. We did get a little rain one night while we were sleeping.
The pictures look the same as every other year - kinda boring and repetitive when you get right down to it, but we love it.
Nantucket
Mid-to-late October on Nantucket it typically in the 50's, but this past weekend, we lucked out - with calm, cloudless sunshine - temps in the 70's... an all around prefect weekend.
We stayed at the Boat Basin Cottages - which are simply fantastic. Right on the water with spectacular views, plush amenities, and a short stroll away from the heart of the islands dining and shopping. They also come equipped with a couple bikes that we took out to Sanford Farm to explore almost 30,000 acres of conservation area. Nice. As usual we ate a lot, including a great dinner at Brant Point Grill that has some serious views of the harbor and this evening was open to the fresh air of a glorious indian summer evening.
Good times.

Summer is a good time
Snapper
Saw a big snapper trudging across the yard. I'm guessing it is about 18" long and pretty massive.
